What is it like to live in Anthem Country Club?

Anthem Country Club is the guard gated heart of Anthem, on the high ground below Black Mountain in south Henderson. Del Webb opened Anthem in 1998, and the golf course here opened in April 1999. The streets wind around the fairways, and the higher lots look north over the whole valley to the Strip.

Inside the main gate are about two dozen smaller neighborhoods, and about half of them have a gate of their own. They run from semi-custom homes on standard lots to custom estates on an acre or more. Most homes were built from the late 1990s through the 2000s, so landscaping is mature and the streets are close to built out, with a few custom lots still changing hands.

The course was designed by Hale Irwin and Keith Foster and plays as a private 18-hole, par 72 layout through the desert foothills. The clubhouse adds dining, a pool, a fitness center, and tennis and pickleball courts. All of that belongs to the club, and membership is bought separately from the home. Many owners here never join, and plenty of golfers play the public courses at Revere Golf Club nearby instead.

Every home pays the Anthem Country Club Community Association, which runs the gates and the common areas. Some neighborhoods add a second association on top. Because the community is all ages, it sits next to two 55+ communities, Sun City Anthem and Solera at Anthem, but has a different mix of families, working owners, and retirees.
