What is it like to live in Sun City Summerlin?

Sun City Summerlin was the first Del Webb Sun City in Las Vegas. Building started in 1989, the same year the first owners moved in, and the last homes were finished in 1999. Today it is 7,781 homes and about 12,500 residents in the northeast part of Summerlin, inside the City of Las Vegas, with golf courses and green belts running between the streets.

Life here is organized around the four recreation centers. Desert Vista has the ballroom, Pinnacle has a theater and a restaurant, Sun Shadows has an indoor pool, and Mountain Shadows has card, craft, and meeting rooms, and each has a fitness center. Residents run dozens of clubs, from pickleball and lapidary to theater and volunteer groups, and the association puts on shows, movies, and talks.

Homes are single-story for the most part, from small attached homes to larger golf course houses, all built by Del Webb in the 1990s. That age shows up in roofs, windows, and air conditioning units, so updates matter more to price here than in newer 55+ communities like Regency or Trilogy.
